Rehome a pet you own

SURRENDERING A PET

We sadly understand that for many people changing circumstances may result in pets needing to be rehomed.

At RSPCA Hertfordshire East we do not have our own animal centre and we are restricted on what animals we can take into our care. We try to help wherever possible though.

We mainly take in cats which we pay to board at a private cattery or fosterers that help with cats and occasionally small to medium-sized dogs.

Our main priority is to assist with boarding animals brought in through the National RSPCA’s inspectorate teams we occasionally accept cats and dogs directly from owners but can only offer help if space is available.

If you live within our branch catchment area and have already tried other charities but have been unable to find space for your pet(s) please send an e-mail to info@rspcahertseast.org.uk providing details of your situation and as much information about your pet(s) as possible. A member of our team will then contact you to discuss whether we can help.

If you find that you are in an emergency situation and your pet will be homeless imminently, please call 0300 1234 999 for assistance from the National RSPCA which is a separate charity to ourselves.
